Merry Christmas and a Joyous Holiday to you and your Family
Video Message from the Executive Director, Kathy Maher:
As we head into our final week of holiday activities, I know we’re all sharing a common feeling of heaviness as our traditional plans and festivities are so dramatically altered this year.
We’re holding each other a little tighter, and maybe we’re even a bit more thankful for all the friends and family who we’ve been apart from through this year. My wish is that 2021 will bring us back together again…a little more grateful, and a lot more inspired about the good in humankind.
We are among heroes this year. And the Barnum Museum wants to thank every front-line worker, every service worker, every mom and dad who RE-learned algebra and 19th century history, and every small business and cultural institution who continues to rally and fight-the-good-fight to get through this covid year. You are all champions, and we at the Barnum are humbled to be among you…keeping the faith, believing we can get through this together. The holidays – Christmas is the time to wish each other peace and joy…and this year I want to add continued safety and continued good health to you, your family and friends.
We want to share with you the beautiful and meaningful words of a contemporary of Mr. Barnum – In 1854, Charles Dickens wrote – “This is in commemoration of the law of love and kindness, mercy and compassion. This is in remembrance of ME.”
To you, your family, and your friends – A blessed and joyous holiday time and happy Christmas.
With great devotion,
Kathy Maher
