Gravity & Other Myths Contemporary Circus
Contemporary Circus Featuring Superhuman Acrobatics Comes to Fairfield University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts
Live from the circus capitol of the world, Australia’s Gravity & Other Myths A Simple Space is a not-to-be missed performance for the entire family. Presented in Fairfield University’s RecPlex on Thursday, January 31 at 8:00 p.m., attendees will experience a unique and immersive view of the high-flying performers, incredible feats of strength, and superhuman acrobatics.
Featuring seven acrobats supported by driving live percussion, the contemporary circus is anything but traditional. A Simple Space is simultaneously humorous, frantic, delicate, and presented so intimately that you can feel the heat, hear every breath, and be immersed in every moment.
A recent review of the performance in AdelaideNow.com stated, “The ensemble not only wowed young and old with intense, jaw-dropping acts that had the audience on the edge of their seats — but also had them in fits of laughter with streaks of comedic play and competitiveness.”
Since their inception in 2009, Gravity & Other Myths has become internationally renowned. Described by the Post and Courier as an “inventive and impressive spectacle,” The Circus company is pushing the boundaries of contemporary and traditional circus. Utilizing an honest approach to perform, they have rocketed to stellar acclaim. The shows are created around a human connection and acrobatic virtuosity. In 2015 they were honored with the Dance Award for Best Physical Theatre and the Green Room Award for Outstanding Contemporary Circus.
Gravity & Other Myths A Simple Space is sponsored by Abbey Tent & Party Rentals and Morris Media. Tickets are $40 (Special Offer: Enter the code BARNUM30 to purchase tickets for just $30).
