Resources for Learners of All Ages:
The Barnum Museum offers educational resources for learners of all ages, including outreach programs (Free for Bridgeport Public Schools!) and supplemental activities and educator guides to our online exhibits:
- Download the Educator Guide to the new StoryMap exhibit, The Widow, The Priest, and the Mummy.
- Contact our Digital Educator to book an in-person outreach program at your school!
- Find more kid’s activities on our Collections page.
As the Barnum Museum enters a period of physical construction and redesign, we’ve turned to Digital Education to keep our community engaged with P.T. Barnum. Through our education program, students have an opportunity to learn unforgettable lessons about everything from the physics of the trapeze to the Bridgeport of Barnum’s day or even the art of money-making!
Our unique lessons combine our incredible collection with cutting edge educational technology. Platforms like ThingLink and Flip lets students into the life and times of P.T. Barnum in new and exciting ways. Our creative lesson design and engaging content is a guaranteed hit for students, and a rewarding challenge for learners of all ages. We cover a wide range of grades, all sorts of subjects, different learner types, and all in line with the state learning standards of Connecticut.
Generous funding from the City of Bridgeport also makes these lessons available to Bridgeport public schools at no cost!
We ask all parents, educators, and anyone interested in learning more to contact our Digital Educator as soon as possible. Lessons are often scheduled months in advance, so please act early to reserve a space!
