Wayfinding
The Barnum Museum is Not Open to the Public during Construction and Renovations. We apologize for this inconvenience, but a new, immersive, 21st century Barnum Museum is on the horizon.
Our museum gallery is currently installed in the People’s United Bank Gallery behind the historic Museum building. Follow signs pointing to the gallery’s entrance from the main plaza. Doors are open only during gallery and program hours.
There is metered parking in front of the Museum, and the Harbor Yard municipal parking garage is located at Main and Water Streets.

Directions
From I-95 heading South
Take Exit 27 (Lafayette Boulevard) stay to the left when ramp forks. Take a left at the end of the ramp, onto Lafayette Boulevard. Go under the turnpike to the light, staying in the center lane. Take the far left onto South Frontage Road (note: the near left takes you back onto I-95). At the second traffic light, take a left onto Main Street. Go under the turnpike and past the light. The Museum is on the right.
From I-95 heading North
Take Exit 27 (Lafayette Boulevard) and continue straight to 5th traffic light to Main Street. Turn left on Main. The Museum is on the right.
From Route 8-25 heading South
Take Exit 3 (Main Street and Washington Avenue) and stay in left lane, following Main Street South signs. Continue on Main for about 1.5 miles. The Museum is on the left.
From Merritt Parkway (Route 15) heading South
Take Exit 52 to Route 8-25 Connector, toward Bridgeport. Stay on Route 8-25 South and follow directions above.
From Merritt Parkway (Route 15) heading North
Take Exit 49S to Route 8-25 Connector toward Bridgeport. Stay on Route 8-25 South and follow directions above.
By Train
Metro North Railroad and Amtrak trains stop at Bridgeport Transportation Station. Cross Water Street, walk two blocks to Main Street, and turn left on Main. The Museum is two blocks on the left.
By Bus
Greyhound and Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority buses stop at Bridgeport Bus Terminal. Cross Water Street, walk two blocks to Main Street, and turn left on Main. The Museum is two blocks on the left.
By Ferry
Bridgeport and Port Jefferson Steamboat Company ferryboats stop at Bridgeport Dock. Cross Water Street, walk two blocks to Main Street, and turn left on Main. The Museum is two blocks on the left.
